Hofstra’s New York Baseball Academy (NYBA) is thrilled to welcome Major League Baseball pitching veteran John Habyan as a new pitching coach. A former New York Yankees pitcher, Habyan has 11 seasons of major league experience, including stints with the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels.
NYBA has been running as a baseball school for athletes aged 7-17 for 41 years, and has been ranked in Baseball America as one of the top five baseball schools in the country. Hofstra University currently houses the program on campus and features outstanding turf baseball fields, indoor practice bubble, batting cages, and more. Sessions run for a period of one to six weeks, with ability-level instruction focusing on the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding, base-stealing, speed development, and reaction training. The coach-to-player ratios are 1 to 6, allowing for a great deal of individualized instruction. For more information on NYBA, click here.
Here is a message from John Habyan: “I am thrilled to be part of the New York Baseball Academy staff. The NYBA has a long history as being one of the top baseball camps on Long Island and I look forward to working with a great staff in teaching the game of baseball to the next generation of players.”
